Reader x Thirteen dwarfs (Hobbit) Pt.2

You walk forward, pinching yourself hoping it is all a cruel dream. You look around for a tree to climb, to sleep for the night. After a few minutes of searching you find a suitable tree, and begin to climb. Once at a high enough, stable branch you sit on it, and begin to cry.

"Thorin! You fool. That was the only Dragonologist that I have found, and now you have scared her away!"

"We, don't need her Gandalf, she is only another person to feed." The rest of the company looks to Thorin.

"What good came of that uncle?"

"I have to agree with Kili, Thorin why?" states a much older dwarf, with a long white beard, known as Balin.

"She was only in the way, we don't need a dragonologist if we have a burglar."

Bilbo looks back to Gandalf to see him, getting on his horse.

  "Where are you, going?"

"I am going to go find her and try to bring her back. Despite, what a stubborn king says. We do need her."

  "Wait, I'm coming with you."

"Well then hop on Bilbo, I'll need all of the help I'm going to get." They take off in pursuit of the run away girl.

You had finally stopped crying after an hour or so, and were now sitting in the tree with your blanket around you. You look up into the stars, and faintly smile, remembering a story that your mother told you when you were little,

"Mommy, why are the stars so bright?" Questions a little girl, in a pair of overalls. Her mother looks down at her.

  "Its because they are lighthouses."

  "Really!?!"

"Yeah, and the reason they are so bright is for us."

  "Why?"

"Well, when they first arrived up there they saw that the world was pitch black at night and the creatures of the earth needed light to go get food. So, they all made a decision to light up the night to the creatures of the earth could see and find their way home."

  "WOW, That's so cool!!"

The sound of a running horse pulls you out of your memory.
