He looked down at the battlefield, his wings taking him high in the air. He looked ahead ans saw the rival captain
looking him in the eyes. His amber eyes looked back with rage as his black wings beat powerfully behind him.
"Well, Captain Kidd, to what do I owe the pleasure?" The rival captain questions.
"You know very well what, Maxi. I told you to never come back, and now you bring an army with you. I really should've expected this, especially from you."
"How about we stop talking, old man. I have a kingdom to run after all." The white winged rebel replies.
"In your dreams, boy."
The rebel charges at the captain. His sword makes contact with the captains shield, pushing him back to the ground. Maxi looks up in time to see, The great Captain Kidd, charging head first at him. He's pushed to the ground, with a sword at his throat.
"I hope the next time you come to challenge the throne, your at least a bit stronger. So it will at least, be a challenge. Call off your makeshift army, and run while I'm still giving you a chance." The rebel stands and limps away, one of his wings dragging behind him. The captain turns to his men,
"The battle has been won!! Now, let us go home and celebrate!!" The troop cheers, as they begin to walk home.
Once arriving In the town of Hullcoorte. He breathes in a sigh of relief.
"Its good to be home" He looks around to see his men, rejoining some of their families, and children running up to them. He walks away grumbling at the sight. He enters into the kings room and kneels, in front of a very old king and queen.
"The threat is taken care of, your Majesty."
"Well, done Captain Kidd, I knew it wasn't a mistake to give you your wings, and now they cover the city, in their protective embrace. Rest now my captain, you've earned it."
He stands and walks into the hallway, and looks at a picture of the last captain, in his prime. A tall, well-built man with a permanent smile on his face. He never knew the man personally, but one could already see from the painting, that the smile was fake. He hated it when people put on 'fake' faces. He looked further down the hall, and saw his picture. He was proud, His face said it all. The rigorous training he had been through to become what he is. After all, he had to be confident. In order to be where he was, The symbol of the city, the Raven of Hullcoorte. He
walked on to the door of his room, and opened it to find a set of maids, he hated the idea of somebody take care of him.
But, with the massive wings on his back, he needed somebody to take care of them. He groaned in annoyance, and moved to sit on his bed. He took off his shirt, bringing to light the many massive scars that littered his back. And extended his wings.
At full length his wings measured, 16 ft. from wing tip to wing tip. The maids get to work by cleaning his wings with a special
type of soap, which smells suspiciously like eucalyptus. After a full fifteen minutes of uncomfortable cleaning and scrubbing
it was now time for him to take a bath. He was quickly rushed to the bathroom by three ornery maids, and there waiting for him was a another set of ten maids this time. Utterly done by the lack of privacy in his own home, he yells at them to
"GET THE HELL OUT OF MY HOUSE!!" They all scramble out of the house, like chickens being chased by a fox. He smirks at their terrified faces, and goes about his business taking his well deserved bath in peace. After getting dried and dressed He walks to the dining room across the hall and eats with the royal family, with the son being a 'an annoying brat' the whole time. He finishes his plate of food and stands,
"May, I be excused. Your Majesty?"
"Yes, you may. You've had a long day after all."
"Thank you, And I bid you all a good night." He turns around and walks out the door and to his bedroom, once he closes the door, only then can he truly voice his thoughts in the darkness of his room.
"The only reason I stay, is because of the current king. As soon as he passes on I will quit my job, and sail the seas like I've always dreamed. I will never serve that kid of his in my life." He quickly climbs into bed and slowly drifts off into a eventful sleep,
full of dreams of the sea.
