Prompt Fun

  prompt: Addict

He walks across the floor over to her, scars mar his once pristine face. As he walks closer, a look of confusion etches on her face. He smiles, knowing how his face has changed.
"Is that anyway to greet a lover?" He moves to sit down in front of her. He takes out a cigar to smoke, after he lights up the cigar. She begins to put two and two together.
   "S-smoker?" He smiles.
   'She still remembers.'
"Oh, my god! Smokey!!" She launches at the burly man. A loud laugh erupts from said man, as he hugs her back. The people around them look at them. Some strangely. some angrily, But neither of them really cared at the moment. She steps back from the hug, with tears in her eyes.
"You could've written me a letter once in a while. I mean, its not like you were imprisoned, a letter once in a while would've been nice." He walks back over to the cafe seats, and sits down.
"I know, I know. Being in the Navy, doesn't really offer a lot time wise. I was still thinking about you though." She leans over and gives him a kiss on the lips. A short, but sweet kiss. They both sit and stare into each others eyes, filled with complete adoration.
"Did you catch any pirates on the high seas, Admiral." The question caught him off guard for a second. He looks at her and laughs.
"What it's a valid question?" She giggles at his loud, at his hearty laugh. She moves over to the waiter to get both of their favorite drinks. After 3 minutes of waiting, a waitress finally appears. by the name of Evy.
"I'm sorry for the long wait. Now what may I get you?" The girl asks with a small smile.
"Oh, we didn't wait long at all. I would like a fresh mint iced coffee. What would you like dear?"
"I think I'll take a cup of black coffee, Thank you." The girl looks up from the pad of paper, and smiles.
"Alright, coming up in a minuet." Once the girl leaves, she asks the question, the one she as been fearing the answer to.
"Are you going back, or staying here?" He lets out a long sigh. while taking a hit of the cigar, still in his hand. He looks at her, hope in her eyes. Her body starts to shake, out of fear for the answer. He looks down at the uniform he is wearing. White. The simple of purity, but stained by millions of Innocent, and condemned blood.
"I have to go back, they still need me." Tears fall down from her eyes. She walks over to him for a hug. Crying into his shoulder.
"How long?" She asks her voice cracking.
"I-I don't know." He rumbles. He grabs her face, making her looks up at him. She looks at him with pleading eyes. A softness she had long forgotten, is seen in his eyes.
"Can you stay the night?" She begins to fiddle with her wedding ring. A smile appears on his face.
   "Yes, I can."

introduction To Kidd

The noise coming from the club, leaks out into the streets. Worsening his oncoming migraine.
"Why am I here, again?" He looks over to his friend, 'Killer' he has been so dubbed, for his luck with women. And sneers at the sound of some of the women's voices. The man looks back down at what used to a glass of Sunset Rum, now left with a few drops in it.
'This is a waste of my time.' He drinks what's left of his drink and moves to stand up.
"Wait, sir here is the bill." he looks back and grabs the bill to look at how much he was going to give away
'$50.00!!! There is NO way I'm paying for that.' His face is one of pure shock, until an idea pops into his head.  His face quickly morphs into one of his signature smirks.
'But I know who will.'  He looks back at the owner and hands him the bill.
"My friend in the blue with golden hair, will pay for it." He points over to his friend. He waits until the bartender knew of who he was talking about. Once the small man nodded his head, the man walked out of the bar to his trusty old pick up truck. He stops for a second to think, 'Is this what I'm meant to do?' The coldness of the air made his breath misty. Disregarding his thoughts, He starts up his truck and drives his way home.
Once he got home, he unlocks his door and locks it behind him. He walks over to his very cluttered work bench. Sits down and continues to work on his latest truck design.

He finally finishes the drawing, and is about to scan it and move it over onto the computer, when his phone rings. He looks down at the device, to find Killer calling him. He sits and debates whether he should answer. He finally gives in to the incessant ringtone of 'circus for a psycho' and answers.
"WHAT THE HELL KIDD!!" Kidd winces from the sound. looking back at the phone. His anger starts to grow from suddenly being shouted at.
"What?" He growls out. the other end of the line went silent, for a second.
"YOU left ME in the dust to pay for YOUR expensive drink." He could practically see the steam coming off of him. The image made him calm down and laugh.
"Well, it was your fault you were the one who dragged me away from my work. And besides aren't you like made of money? I mean, you already own the bar."
"True, but that doesn't mean you just ditch the party before the fun starts."
"Oh, that party was meant to be fun. What you and I consider fun then, are two different things."
   "I thought you liked strippers?"
"I do but I wasn't in the mood a the time, same for now. Now, could you stop eating up the minuets, not everybody is made of money you know?"
"Alright, see ya." After he hangs up the phone. He gets up and decides to go for a late night walk. To try to get out some pent up anger so he can get some sleep. He grabs his keys and a knife, already knowing what's going to happen. He opens the door, to find nobody. Which was relatively strange. He brushes it off, thinking he just got lucky. He starts off on his normal path through the streets of Boston, already encountering some shady people. He's just about to pass around corner of a street. when he's met with a large group of men. Already knowing the drill. He pulls out his 9-inch combat knife, a sadistic smirk crawls onto his face.
"You guys are late. Let's get this over with, I don't have all night."

Prompt Fun

Prompt: Spider threads caught at her face, a sign that no-one had been there yet.

Spider threads caught at her face, a sign that no one had been there yet. She swipes at the cobwebs on her face, while walking forward. She bumps into something and falls on her butt. She opens her eyes and is met with the face of a gargoyle.
"Oh, cool." She stands up and brushes her self off. She pulls out a wooden staff , and whispers something to it. Fireflies fly out of the top of the staff, and light up the hall with a warm glow. She moves closer, to inspect the statue. Its teeth Held a unrealistic sharpness, Its eyes held a endless malice. Its wings look powerful enough to cause a wind storm. one thing is for sure If this thing was ever real she would be dead, quicker than a millisecond. She looks to the left, seeing a winding staircase, leading down into seemingly nothing. She pushes onward down the steps into the darkness. As she gets closer, she can hear people speaking.
"She has to leave. Those things are following her!" a rather squeaky voice shouts.
'What? something is following me? Where even am I? The last thing i remember was walking through the forest. Thinking about what to have for dinner.' Her thoughts were interrupted by a gruff voice.
"We can't just throw her back out there. She'll die!"
"And, why should we care!? She's a nobody!" I walk out of the darkness and into the lighted room where the two men are talking. Knowing i would be taking a risk, I pop a question.
"Who are you guys, I thought this place was abandoned?"
"We should be asking you the same thing, witch." another voice is heard come form one of the dark corners on the wall. She looks around to find the voice, as more people start filtering into the room.
"W-what. I'm NOT a witch, I'm an archaeologist. I study old castles like this, for a living."
"WITCH!!" She grabs her face and sighs.
"I'M NOT A FRICKEN WITCH!!!!!" The men look at me, her face turns from the unwanted attention.
"I'm getting out of here. I'm too wound up to deal with this." A man in old-fashion preacher garb, walks over to me.
"If you go out there you will die." She looks back at him, with a look reading are-you-stupid?
"At this point I'd welcome that." A crazed old woman runs up to me.
"No please don't leave we need new blood!"
'New blood? What?' she look down at the woman clinging to her pant leg. She's crying. She looks up to the people who filed into the room. All of them a deathly pale, along with arms bent at an impossible angle. Things start to fall into place, 'You'll die if you go outside', the people are a deathly pale, '
'These people never went out side, religious seclusion.' Something stuck out her still, how are they still alive? She looks around and sees all similar faces.
   "Incest."
'OH GOD.' She quickly runs for the door. and makes a made dash down the castles stairs. After running for a good fifteen minuets. She stops for a breather.
   "Never again."

Prompt Fun

prompts:

person: Mail carrier, person in love

problems: missing child, radio picks up stations from the past

The radio blares out 'highway to hell' by AC/DC as she finishes up with the next to last street for her early postal route. She starts singing,  "On the Highway To hell!" and the radio goes "fshhshs." She states "What the hell?"

She walks, back over to her radio and starts flipping through the channels to find the song again. As the channel numbers increase, the signal gets clearer. After five minutes of searching for a channel, she finds a channel that shouldn't be active. "Weird...eh, oh well."

The song starts to play again. Satisfied with the song, she reached into the back of her delivery truck, dropped off the mail and moved on to the next street. This continued until the last street and the radio went fussy again.

"I just took this truck in for maintenance. literally, two days ago."

Before she could mess with the controls again, the static clears up. It broadcasts a scream at full volume. Covering both ears with one hand, and one shoulder she reaches for the off button, and turns off the radio. With a ringing in her ears, she moves on to the next house looking warily at the radio.

"What the hell was all of that about? One things for sure I'm taking this truck back in for maintenance."

She pulls into her drive way just as the sun sets. The sky takes on the color of an orange marmalade,

mixed with a tinge of pink.

 "Beautiful..."

She looks into the driveway to see her husband's car parked in his spot next to hers.

'Good he's off work early,' she thinks with relief. He's been working too much, anyone with a good set of eyes could see that. Although if you told him that he would either grumble at you or look at you like you were stupid. Sometimes the way he acts makes me wonder why I ever fell in love with him.' As she walks up to her door a sigh of relief leaves her lips, right after she opens the door with a motherly smile on her face.

As soon as the door is opened a flurry of red and blonde can be seen along with a quite tall man standing in the corner with a smile on his face, with his arm crossed over his rather large chest.

"Attack!!" The man shouts while rushing the poor woman. The red man is accompanied by two smaller flashes of black and strawberry blond.

"OOF" The women cries out as she's tackled to the ground. 'Payback time' flies through her mind as a devious smile crosses her face. She takes a deep breath and proceeds to just lay there.

 "Honey?"

"Um, Dad. I think we killed her." The boys start to get worried, and walk over to her to listen to her heart, same with the man. Once they were all close enough, she opens her eyes to see all three of her family surrounding her.

'NOW!' Her arms shoot out of the position they were in. Latching around all three of the the lovely people she calls family's heads.

"Gotcha!!" She shouts out in triumph.

"Aw! mom you really had us worried!" The older of the two boys call out. She reaches over and messes up the black-haired boys hair.

"Well that's whatcha get for not doing the dishes, Jerimyah."

Once she is finally able to stand up, she walks over to her husband of over 8 years and gives him a hug and a kiss.

 "How was work baby?"

"Good, a little weird at the end though."

 "Oh? How so?"

"The radio in my car started acting really funky."

"Didn't you just have it serviced a few days ago?"

"Yeah, I did. They said everything was in 'perfect working order'."

As she begins to walk over to the kitchen, she feels a small tug on the hem of her pant leg. she looks down to see her youngest son, Christon, tugging on her pant leg with the most adorable puppy dog eyes known to existence.

"Hey, Ton-ton." she reaches down and picks him up.

"Let me guess you want a kiss too?" The small boy nods his head vigorously. She chuckles at his reaction and gives him a kiss on the cheek. She sets him down again and continues her walk to the kitchen.

"What do you guys want for dinner?" She shouts as she starts to get the pans out for dinner. Her husband walks in,

"How about we get pizza?"

"That sounds really good right now. Good call Kidd."

 "I'll go order it."

After pizza and a movie and once she put the kids to bed. She decided on heading that way herself. After a quick shower, she walks in to their shared bedroom and sees Kidd fast asleep. With a look of happiness on his face, she crawls into bed giving him a loving kiss before falling asleep on his chest.

The alarm goes off signaling 'Its time to get up'. Groggily she pulls herself out of Kidd's arms and moves over to shut off the alarm clock. "Stupid freaking alarm clock." A husky moan is heard from across the room, along with the bed creaking. 'Kidd's up.' His heavy footsteps make their way over to her. A sudden weight is placed onto her head and back.

 "Get back into bed, Evy."

"Trust me I'm thinking about just calling in today. Unfortunately, we need the money. I swear, one of these days I'm going to break this thing with a hammer."

"You and me both." Kidd wraps his arms around her for a hug. She leans into him enjoying his warmth. They both stand there for a few minutes, before the 'oh-so-hated' alarm goes off again. They both look at it with anger. Her grip on the alarm clock tightens as cracks start to form in the glass. She reaches over to her dresser and places it in its original position, before turning the alarm clock off. She grabs his arms and gives them one last squeeze. Then pulls them apart to walk away and take a quick shower. After, the morning routine of, coffee, bagel, lunch, and keys is followed. She walks back over to Kidd and gives him one last kiss, before leaving for the door. She looks back to grab her coffee. Only to see a adorable, pouting Kidd.

"Do you really have to go?"

"I know it sucks that I have to work Saturdays but, those are the requirements of a mail carrier. So in other words, yes I do. So have a good day, and I'll be back as soon, As I'm physically able to, without breaking the law."

She shuts the door, and locks it behind her, and walks over to the dreaded mail truck. She doesn't want to turn on the radio, until she is completely out of the driveway. As to make sure she doesn't freak out the neighborhood, in the case of an ear-splitting scream like last time. She pulls out of the driveway, And heads out to the post office, to pick up her letters for the day. She walks out with a relatively large amount of letters.  'This is going to take a while.'

The need to turn on the radio pops up went she makes a turn that leads out to open land for miles. "Why not?" She reaches over to turn on the radio, first she's met with plain old static. She start to fiddle with the channels until she finds one that has what sounds like a police story. Not even knowing that these existed she decides to listen. "And now on with your favorite detective show. Dragnet!"

"Madam when did you last see your son?"

"T-Two days ago. H-he said H-he was going for a swim in the creek outback."

Crying can be heard in the background, along with quiet words of comfort. Some one's footsteps are heard coming closer.

"What did you find?"

"Nothing yet, Detective. But you should come and take a look at this, with us, maybe you'll see something we don't."

"Alright, I'll go with you, I am truly sorry ma'am. We will find your son, and that is a promise."

As the day continues, with more letter boxes shut, she reaches down into the pile for the last letter, which is addressed to someone out in the middle of the sticks. It reads 'URGENT DO NOT BEND'. She looks up to the sky noticing how dark it has gotten.

"I hate driving in the dark. I wish I were back home with Kidd and the kids, drinking that hot cocoa that Kidd makes for me."

She gets back into her truck and starts it up to get back into gear. She turns up the radio, as to disguise the constant eerie silence of the night.

"Next up is all our favorite horror tune 'Appointment Of Fear'."

"I hate horror, but right now I'd rather hear something rather than nothing. So horror it is, I guess."

Two hours have gone by at this point with the horror show still on. With every minute it goes on, the more she comes closer to freaking out. At this point she has shut off the radio many times, at least 15. Each time she turns it off the eerie silence freaks her out even more than the show does. She finally turns onto the familiar street, where she lives with her wonderful family. She sees her driveway with Kidd's car in it and the lights still on waiting for her. She lets out a relived sigh and pulls in. She turns the car off and bolts to the front door, unlocking it quickly, and shutting it behind her. To find Kidd playing poker with, Christian, and Jerimyah. Kidd looks up from his cards, to see Evy's terrified face and hair sticking out everywhere. He stands up and walks over to her.

"What's wrong, babe?" She immediately runs over to Kidd and hugs him. He hugs her back enveloping her in his warmth.

 "What's wrong, baby?"

"Just shut up and hug me."

"Well, isn't someone demanding here? Let me guess bad day?"

 "Very, bad day."

 "Want some hot cocoa?"

 "Yes."

 "Okay, I'll go make some."

He lets go and walks off to the kitchen, to make some hot cocoa. She walks over to the couch and grabs a blanket, that just so happens to be in her spot on the couch. She wraps herself in it enjoying the softness of it. Kidd walks in with a cup of hot cocoa with three marshmallows on top. He walks over to her and sits down, while putting his arm around her.

"Now what's got you so worked up?"

 "Promise you won't laugh?"

 "All right, I promise."

"Alright, remember how I told you about how the radio was messing up last night?"

 "Yeah? what about it?"

"Well, it started to work again. I switched it onto a old time cop show, and I decided to listen to it. It lasted for a good portion of the day. After that was a cheesy romance, what came on next, is what got me. I was near the ending of my route, when a horror show came on. I can't really remember it's name right now, I had to turn it off many times, through out the whole two hours it was on. It was the silence that got me, so I had to turn it back on. The ending was horrifying. So that, is what led me bolting into the house terrified."

 He begins to laugh uncontrollably.

"You promised you wouldn't laugh!!" She reaches out of her blanket cocoon and shoves Kidd.

"I know! I know! But, this is priceless!"

"Well, fine then." she turns around, her back facing Kidd.

"Oh, come on, don't be like that, sweetheart." He leans into her and pulls her onto his lap.

"Aw, you look so cute when your pouting." She turns her face even further away from him.

Her stomach growls, demanding to be fed.

"What do you want for dinner?" She cocks her head to the side, lost in thought.

"How about goulash?" She looks back at him.

"Your cooking the hamburger." She smiles up at him.

After eating the dinner they'd made. She walks over to the boys and tells them to go to bed. Jerimyah is the first one to complain, saying that, they don't have school tomorrow.

"Well, if you guys want to go to the park tomorrow. You need to sleep." The boys faces lit up with excitement. They immediately dash off to their rooms and turn off the light. If she'd blink, she'd have missed the whole thing.

"They're going to hold you to that you know." she turns around with a coy smile.

"Oh no, I know that look. What's on your devious, little mind now?" She walks towards him with a strut in her step. He watches her, his eyes run rampant with an unchecked desire, over her body. She closes the distance and moves her head moves over to his ear, She whispers in a sultry voice.

"I didn't say I would take the kids out there did I?" He stops for a moment, to comprehend what he had just heard. She begins to move away, before she gets too far. Kidd reaches out and grabs her arm.

"Your going to pay for that, Evy." She looks back, and smiles.

 "I know."

Prequel

"I'm sorry but there is nothing I can do for you here, I can recommend a good funeral plan if you want." She looks down to the floor, while scratching her neck. Her skin feels hot under her fingers. She looks up to the doctor hopeful.
"Is there someone else you can recommend me to?" He turns his chair to look at the woman.

"There is one I could recommend. Although, he lives in Japan." She looks at him and ponders, before finally answering.

"Please send out the letter to him, he's my only hope."

"We have mail for you doctor." He looks up from his desk, his black hair plastered on his face. his eyes have sunken into their sockets, huge black lines frame his eyes.

"Dr. Tatsuo, as your nurse I must advise that you take the day off and get some well needed sleep." He glares at his nurse.

"There are people who I need to be cared for. Sicknesses don't stop." He stands up abruptly from his desk. Which is piled with a mountain of paperwork. The nurse walks off, with a loud obnoxious sigh.  Rolling his eyes, he gathers up the mail that she had left on his desk. As he sifts through the mail, he starts walking around the cramped room. The first two were bills from the electric company, and water company. The third one is the one that stands out the most though, It was a letter from a fellow doctor. He grabs his letter opener that sits upon his desk, and opens up the envelope. He takes out the formal letter, and begins to read.

"I have a patient, I would like to recommend to you. Her name is Evy Ire, she has a very rare sickness that we have no known cure for. It's called Morgellons, contact me if you want to treat the patient." He looks over at his books.

'I've heard about that sickness before' After thirty minutes of searching, he finally pulls out the book on rare illnesses. He flips over to the back of the book and finds Morgellons.

"A disease characterized by excruciating pain in the windpipe and in the lower stomach, it is thought to be a 'Trojan horse' disease. usually leading to more complex diseases. Not much is known about the disease, people who usually have this disease die within the first year of having contracted it."

He grabs his face, out of tiredness. He looks over to his clock and it reads '9:00 Am' in blaring red numbers.
"Maybe I do need some sleep." He looks down to the letter in his hands. He walks over to the corner of the room, where the coat hanger is and rips his coat off its hanger, puts it on along with his scarf. He opens the door and the light shines into the dark room temporarily blinding him. Once his eyes finally adjust to the light, he looks around the hospital to see the new shift walking around. He walks up to the front desk. The lady in pink smiles up at him. He leans down and asks the lady if she can send an email to someone
"Who am I sending the letter to?" He hands her the paper.
"Can you tell him that I will take the patient?" She nods her head.
"Thank you." He walks off to the front door thinking about sleep.

On the other side of the world, Evy is currently sitting on the couch with a tub of her favorite ice-cream. With tears running down her face, thinking.
'If I'm gonna die then I'm gonna die on a mountain if sugar!' She was very certain that this was going to be her last year, so she'd make it the best year ever. She yawns, her mind fighting with her body, over the Idea of sleep. The thought of another hospital makes her want to cry. She has spent most of her teen years in a hospital. She is tired of living in and out of hospitals.
"I'll give this new doctor a chance, even though i don't want to step into another hospital. I don't want to die." She reaches over and turns on the T.V, after searching through the channels with nothing on. She looks over at her room, she can already see the messiness form where she sat. Clothes scattered around the floor along with her unmade bed in the corner of the room. A big bottle of prescription pills sit on the floor next to her bed. She looks up to the ceiling, debating on whether she should even try to get some sleep.
"I might as well try." she stands up to put her ice cream away and to head to bed. When she's finally dressed in her pj's, she reaches down to the pills pops the top off and takes 3 pills. She lifts the fluffy, inviting covers gets in, and closes her eyes waiting for sleep to enter.

She opens her eyes only to see the blurred digits of '7:00 Am'. The sound of the alarm clock fills the room. Clearly aggravated and sleep deprived, she grabs her pillow and throws it across the room, hitting the alarm clock, knocking it on the ground. She gathers the blanket around her, trying to go back to sleep and to the 'oh, so glorious dream'. Her phone rings obnoxiously loud, she reaches down and grabs her phone to see a notification. She opens her phone to read the prompt.
'Plane flight to Japan today!! To meet the new doctor!'
"Why am I even trying to live again?" The image of a store front pops into her head with the name of
'Mint Drop Cafe' written in bold mint green text. She looks into the store to see it full of people. The vision ended as soon as it began, but it left her with a happy feeling, placed in the pit of her stomach and extending outward. She stands up with a new found confidence, and moves to pick out her dress for the day.

He opens his eyes, and immediately sits up in bed. knowing how bad it is for someone to sit in bed. He stands up to grab his agenda, for the day.
   'New patient.
     Name: Evy Ire
     Sickness: Morgellons
     Age: 25
Sex: Female' He sets the book down and moves to get dressed, once dressed he steps out of his room to get breakfast. Once, his morning meal of rice,  miso soup, and an omelet was eaten. He stands and places dishes in the sink. He walks over to the door after grabbing his land-yard and walks out of his house. He walks over and grabs his bike. He kicks up the kick-stand and sets off.
"The ride to the hospital this morning was dreadfully slow."
He states to no one in particular, he glides his bike over to the side of the building and parks his bike at the side of the building, and locks it with his personally made lock. He turns his head to look at the all white, looming building. He sighs with a mixture of relief, and sadness. He looks down to his satchel and pulls out the agenda, to see if he has anything else to do today, other than meeting the new patient. Right below the descriptive notes of Evy, is a line of blue written text it reads,
'Tell Samson, the prognosis, and when he should have a cassette ready.'
He sighs, he's never been good with delivering this kind of news. He never wants to be good with it, because that would mean that he would be failing as a doctor.  He closes the book, and walks into the hospital. He walks over to the front desk and scans his ID card to be allowed in. The doors open To reveal nurses and doctors talking with each other and patients being wheeled in and out of rooms. He walks at a slightly faster pace than the other doctors, hoping to finish the paperwork in his room. Before, Evy arrives.

"CAN'T YOU PEOPLE GO ANY FASTER?!?!?!" She shout s at the people in front of her. The people in front of her and behind look at her incredulously. She was beyond angry. She looks ahead of her to see a middle aged man that spoke fluent English. Flirting with the flight desk attendant. She walks out of line, leaving her luggage in her spot to not lose the place she had waited for. She walks up to the man and taps his shoulder to get his attention, he turns around to look at her, with a look of annoyance.
"What do you want?" She looks at him with the kindest smile that she can give with the current situation.
"Do you mind taking your business somewhere else? Where people aren't waiting for an hour for you to stop flirting, with an obviously uncomfortable flight attendant?" The look he gives her makes her blood boil.
"Why don't you mind your own business?"
"Didn't you hear what I just said? your preventing so many people from completing their business. Do you want me to get the guards?" He looks back at her, with a pissed off look in his eyes.
"And as i said before, Mind your own damn business." He steps closer to her to try and scare her off, she steps forward to solidify her point. The two of them are nose to nose now, both of them bristling with anger. The sound of heavy footsteps are heard, along with the sound of handcuffs hitting against keys.
"What seems to be the problem here, miss?"
"This gentleman, has been holding up the line for an hour, and refuses to move."
"Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to move." a grin forms on her face. The man looks back to the smirking woman, with a glare in his eye. She moves back into line, to the place where her luggage was, and proceeds to wait in line for an excruciatingly long fifteen minutes. She grabs her ticket from the lady who thanked her profusely, for helping her out. She looks down to the ticket number and finds her waiting area.
"Boarding for flight number 45, boarding flight number 45."
   "That's my Que."
She stands and walks over, gives her ticket, and board the plane. Once she finds her correct seat, she sits and pulls out her headphones and grabs her favorite book from her suitcase and proceeds to zone out for all the trip.

He sighs as he finishes up the last of the extensive paperwork. He stands and stretches, an audible crack can be heard from his back. His phone rings breaking him out of his momentary leisure.
"Dr. Tatsuo, the patient is here."
"Alright, send them down." he hangs up and starts to gather the papers into their specific folders. A knock is heard on the door.
"Come in." The door opens to reveal a medium sized woman with honey colored hair.
"I heard that this is the office of Dr. Tatsuo?"
"You're speaking to him. Come in and sit down." She steps over to the examination table and sits on it. He rolls over and closes the door, he stands and walks over to his computer.
   "Do you have any allergies?"
   "Not that I know of."
   "Any medications?"
"I take Albuterol for my asthma along with, an over the counter allergy medication."
   "Anything else?"
   "Not that I know of."
"Okay, now that the paperwork is done." He walks over to her and pulls up his chair.
"I'm going to go through a standard check up, okay?" She nods her head. After finishing the check up, with nothing coming up on any test results, He sits back in his chair.
"Do you feel any pain, right now? and if any where?"
"Yes I do in my throat and lower stomach." He rolls over to her and starts to press his fingers against her throat at certain spots. In some spots he presses roughly in others he gently glides his fingers across, all the while asking,
"If it hurts let me know immediately."He reaches a certain point and she winces.
   "Ah! That hurt!"
"Okay, now I know a place to focus at." She looks at the doctor strangely. He rolls away from the examination table, over to the desk, and opens one of the drawers. The sounds of items shuffling makes it to her ears, curiosity and a slight amount of fear forms a pit in her stomach.
"You're not afraid of needles, are you?" She shakes her head.
"No, not really. Why?" He looks back at her with a smile.
"Good, because I'm going to have to draw some blood." He rolls over to her with a rather large needle, and a rubber band in hand.
"That is a big needle." He looks at her and shrugs, before tying up her arm. He fills up four viles worth of blood. He moves over to place the vials in a container, and places them by the door. The door randomly opens and a tall nurse grabs the viles and leaves. She turns her head to look over to the thinking doctor.
"Is something wrong?" He looks away from her and stands up.
"You're going to be staying here for a while." She looks at the doctor, confusion evident on her face.
   "Wait-What? How long?!?"
"Until, I say so." He walks over to the desk and grabs a clipboard.
"How long is that going to be? I do have work too, you know?" She looks at him with sass in her eyes.
"There is a gown on the desk, I'd advise you change into it." He looks down at her, before leaving the room, and shutting the door behind him.  She looks over to see the green paper gown placed on the desk. She moves over and puts it on, just as she ties the last secure knot with the strings  in the back. The door opens to see the tall woman from before, with a clipboard in her hands.
"I'm here to take you to the MRI and X-Ray, if you'd please come with me. Oh, and grab your clothes, and hand them to me." She stands and grabs her clothes, and hands them over to the nurse. She looks back and smiles.
"Alright, now if you can follow me."

He stands up from the micro-scope and stretches. He walks over to the door and opens it, what he is met with is certainly not what he expected. He looks down at a rather furious nurse.
"I told you to get some rest, not to get another tough case!" He turns away back to the microscope.
"I believe you hired in to be a nurse, not my mother." She walks in and closes the door behind her.
"The only person that I have to 'mother' around is you."
"Lucky me." Another nurse walks in through the door.
"Here are the X-Ray and MRI that you wanted. Don't know how they'll help much though, nothing showed up abnormal." He lets out a sigh of frustration.
"There is nothing physically wrong with her, so then why is she in pain?" He rests his hand on this face in contemplation. His phone rings, startling him out of his thoughts. He reaches over and picks up the phone.
   "Is this Dr. Tatsuo?"
   "This is him."
"We have gotten the records from america, that you asked for, they're in your mailbox."
"Thank you." The person on the other side hangs up the phone. He walks over to his computer and pulls up the records. The first thing he sees is the multiple attempts on her life with in prolonged hospital stays, the longest being 3 years. He leans back into the chair.
"What's wrong?" He looks over to the nurses in the room.
"She has a history of suicide from prolonged stay in the hospitals." He goes back to the screen and scrolls down to the 'Recent symptoms' section of the records. It shows a history of pain in the throat, along with a 'scratchy feeling' in the throat, and lower abdomen. He pulls up a diagram of the throat, and walks over to the overfilled bookshelf and proceeds to pull out three books labeled 'Anatomy of the throat', 'Throat explained', and 'Nerves explained'.  He pulls out a pad of paper and a pen from his desk drawer.

Many hours had passed by, by now. Evy had already returned to the room by now, and is now reading her favorite book. She puts down the book, and looks around the room. Her eyes land on the doctors computer, a childish grin appears on her face. She walks over to the open computer, adds a tab and plays one of her favorite childhood games, Bloxer's. After she finished the thirtieth level and exited out of it. The nurse walks in, and asks her if she wanted something to eat.
   "Sure, what do you have?"
"Just about anything healthy. We have an excellent chef."
   "How about spaghetti?"
"Alright, one plate of spaghetti coming up."
The nurse looks up and smiles, and walks out the door. Hearing the outside of the world makes her face light up, maybe she'll be able to eat outside of the room. Her hopes are soon dashed when ,not too long after the nurse left, she walks in with a plate of steaming spaghetti. She looks up at the nurse.
"Can I eat out in the cafeteria?" The nurse looks up, and shakes her head.
"I'm sorry but you can't leave the room Doctors orders."
"Wait, before you leave what's your name?" The nurse looks down at her in confusion.
   "Tina, why?"
"Well it looks like you'll be the only one I can talk to, for a while now." The nurse nods her head, now understanding. She turns to walk out the door, but before she leaves she turns around and smiles.
   "I'll see you later."
"See ya!" The nurse leaves and closes the door behind her. Evy, Starts to eat her ordered meal. She puts the plate down by the side of the bed, and turns on her side, curling up. This routine continues for the next three months with absolutely no sign of the doctor. Over time her once cheerful mood dissolved into one of loneliness, and sadness. The nurse comes in with a plate full of her favorite food to find Evy crying in the corner. Tina quickly sets the tray down and walks over to her.
"What's wrong? Are you hurt?" She looks over at Tina, with fresh tears in her eyes.
"Nobody cares if I'm here or not so why don't I just leave? It's been 3 months since I've seen the doctor! I'm SO done, just let me out of here, to die!" She reaches over to hug the nurse who is almost at the point of crying herself, seeing what was once a bubbly girl, now being reduced by her own thoughts to almost nothing. The nurse makes her sit on her bed. Once she sits down the nurse sits down next to her.
"We're doing everything we can to make you better, so please. Don't give up on us, yet. I'll have to have a doctor come back in to see you." The woman looks to her, with red eyes, and a long forgotten smile,
"I won't." The nurse smiles back at her. they both give each other a hug. The nurse gets up to leave, but soon stops feeling something in her pocket. She reaches into her pocket and pulls out said thing,
"Oh, I wanted to give you this." Evy looks up at the nurse, as soon as she sees what was in her hand she squeals with glee. She takes the object out of the nurses hand, and places it next to her on the table. she looks back over to the nurse.
"Where did you find it?" a mischievous grin forms on the nurses face.
   "I have my ways."
   "Thank you!!"
"Your welcome." The nurse walks out and closes the door behind her.
Evy looks back at the object. It's been something she had wanted for a long time. She grabs the plushie from the table and cuddles it close to her chest. She closes her eyes trying to catch some sleep, but it keeps flying through her fingers no matter how much she closes her hands around it. Giving up she stands up and walks over to her backpack, where she had put her sleeping medication. Once she found the pill bottle she walks back over to the bed, and just before she pops off the top. The door opens to reveal a very tired looking Dr. Tatsuo.
"What are you doing?" He questions in a very monotone voice.
"Taking my prescribed sleeping medication, to hopefully catch some sleep." She sits down on her bed, and looks up to the man in white. He reaches his hand over and takes the bottle out of her hands, looks at it, and throws into the chemicals trash can.
"WHAT THE HELL?!?! I NEED those to SLEEP!" She runs over to the trash to dig out the pill bottle, but she is stopped by a hand on her chest, holding her back. She looks back up to the owner of the hand with a look of anger.
"You better have a replacement by tomorrow, or I'm checking out myself." She moves back onto the bed and sits down, she reaches over to the stand and grabs her book, and begins to read.
"I've come here, to ask you some questions."
No response.
"How long have you had problems sleeping?"
No response.
"I need you to answer the question-"
"Ever since I was ten." She cuts him off. It catches him off guard but he quickly pulls a straight face. He looks down at the clipboard in his hands, a look of confusion crosses his face.
"When did you start taking that medication?"
"At the age of twelve. Why do you ask? Could the prescription be what's causing this?"
"It could be." He looks down to his notes and records and sees how they line up almost perfectly, the key word 'almost'. He looks over to the desk to see the emergency inhaler. He looks on the inside of the prescription to find 'Albuterol'. He looks back down to her.
"How long have you been taking this?"
"Ever since I could. I was born with asthma, after all." A look of confusion, quickly changes to a look of seriousness. He looks up to the woman.
"I heard you wanted to see me?" Thrown off by the question, she freezes. but quickly smiles.
"Yes, I did. I wanted to get to know you better." She shifts around so that she is facing him. with a childish smile on her face.
"Why would you want to know me? you may be leaving tomorrow." He looks at her with a bored expression. Most people at this point would give up trying to talk to him. So the reply he receives throws him for a loop, so to speak. She looks up at him.
"Why not?" He gives her a confused look.
"What do I have on my face?"
"No. So how do you plan to complete this task?" The confused look turns into a playful smirk. She grabs her face in contemplation, a grin soon crawls onto her face.
   "Let's play twenty questions!"
   "Really?"
"What? I don't know a lot of ice-breaker games!" She huffs in annoyance. He moves back to sit on the rolling chair.
   "What's your first question?"
   "What's your favorite color?
   "Black." He replies monotonously
   "What's your favorite...song?"
   "I don't have one."
"Really? Even when you were younger?" She asks with a shocked look on her face.
"Nope, I've either worked or studied, and that was it." He states with a shrug.
   "Any friends?"
"One, a martial artist by the name of Bepo."
"He sounds fun, does he teach you anything?"
"What do you mean?" He asks with a confused face.
   "Martial arts wise."
"Oh, no. I have no need to know any of that."
"Why not? I think it would be cool." She asks, while doing some makeshift karate moves. Earning chuckle out of the Doctor.
"Well as I said before, I have no real need for it." He shifts, putting his leg on top of his other leg.
"Okay, next question. What's your favorite book?"
"The current book I'm reading now is 'Sun Tzu's: Art of War'." She looks at him with a confused face.
"Do you want to start a war or something?"
"Maybe." She busts out laughing at this. She falls onto the back of the bed clutching her sides.
"You? Starting a war!" After a minute of laughing, she recovers.
"Who would the war be against? He smiles already knowing a good comeback.
   "The insurance companies."
"I totally agree with that. They need to be taken down."
"OH, I got a good one! What's your favorite film?"
   "'Hero' from Jet Li."
"That is a good one, though if I had to pick an old style Japanese film. It would be 'Flying Tiger Hidden Dragon'. I just love the style."

"It was really funny when kanna first started to bake with me. She almost
burnt down the kitchen! Thank goodness I was the-" The alarm clock rings signifying it was already time to start the next shift. She looks over to the doctor.
"Oh jeez, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to take your time. I just got so lost in the conversation. Please don't be mad at me!"
"Why would I be mad at you?"
"I took up all your time."
"I wouldn't say this was time wasted. I had fun." She looks up at him and smiles.
"Thank you for not being mad at me." He stands up and cracks his back, and knuckles.
"That can't be good for you." He looks back with a grin.
"What are you going to start mothering me now?"
"What? No. I'm just saying-" He reaches over and pats her on the head.
"I know what you were trying to say. And yeah I know, just because I'm a doctor doesn't mean I have to be super healthy."
"True, well i hope you have a good rest of your day, doctor."
   "Trafy."
   "What?"
   "My name Is Trafy."
"there is no way i'm going to remember that so i'm gonna call you...Taffy."
"Really? Taffy?" He looks at her with an incredulous look.
"Yeah, cause you remind me if Taffy."
   "No, I refuse."
"I'm totally going to call you that now."
"I'm probably not going to be able to see you tomorrow, but i'll try to swing by."
"Alright, see ya later Taffy." She states with a childish grin. He grumbles something before closing the door. She laughs out loud that breaks the silence that seeped into the room.

She looked over to the calendar the day read February, 17 2020. It has been five months since she checked into the hospital. After their rocky start they had finally become friends at month four. She still hasn't received any real treatment for her pain, but feels so much better than she has in years. She reaches over and grabs a new book she had received from a pile of books, on top on the pile is a little note 'from the best nurse, Tina.' 'I'll have to thank her next time I see her.' She looks over to the clock. '9:00 pm? I should try to get some sleep then.' She puts the boo back on the table, and leans over to grab her newly prescribed sleeping pills and proceeds to take the recommended amount of two pills. She reaches over to turn off the light, when her vision starts to blur, she tries to grab the phone to call the doctor, when a sudden pain erupts form her stomach making her gasp in pain. She reaches out for the phone once again, only for it to fall off the table. She gasps again as another wave of pain makes her clutch her stomach, as she cries out in pain. Tears stream down her eyes as the pain increases. She calls out louder this time, hoping for at least someone to hear her. Black spots start to invade her vision. She can't hear the door opening, nor could she hear Trafy calling her name to try and hold on. She looked around with panic in her eyes looking for Trafy, once her eyes landed on his face, she smiled before closing her eyes completely. She awoke to hear the beeping of machines, and the sound of pen hitting paper. She opens her eyes and quickly closes them from the brightness of the overhanging light.
"Ow.." She looks over to the sound of the noise, to see her friend scribbling down something on a clipboard while overlooking the various machines.
"Good morning." She greets him with a hoarse voice. He looks down at her, with a tired smile.
   "Morning."
"What happened?" She massages her head trying to relieve the oncoming headache.
"We almost lost you. You had a hernia in your lower intestine. It seems that the morgellons disease was a cover up disease. meaning you had a lot wrong with you. We are now treating you with several antibodies to try and counteract the multitudes of sicknesses you have contracted."
"Is that all?" She asks sarcastically. He grins at her reaction.
"It's good you didn't over react." She rolls her eyes.
"Come on you should know me by now, I don't sweat the stuff I can't control." She tries to sit up, but a hand prevents her from doing so. She looks up to Trafy with a questioning look.
"You are not allowed to move, doctors orders." He smirks at the last statement. She huffs at the last statement. He looks down at the clipboard in his hands.
"I had been working on a cure for morgellons before this, but with this random hernia. It looks like you'll have to stay a while longer." She looks at him, lost in thought.
"I don't mind, I just want to be free of this sickness." She looks up at him with a smile.
"I never got to ask, but why do you smile all the time? I mean you have every reason to not to, so why?" She looks down at her hands trying to formulate a good answer, but nothing good came to mind. So her answer wasn't a good one, in her eyes she later told me. The reason was just as valid as any other.
"Why not?" She grins at her answer, and looks to the beeping machines. Giving her antibodies and other necessary fluids. She looks over at her heat beat monitor. Seeing it rise and fall, steadily. She turns her head to look at the clock. Its light read '5:00 Am'. She looks over to see the dark lines that have settled underneath The doctor's eyes.
"You need to get some sleep." He looks up from the clipboard, at the sound of her voice. He quickly looks back down.
   "No, you're more important."
"No, you need sleep, who else is going to take care of me while I'm sick. If you're sick yourself?" He looks at her with a serious face, thinking over her words. He sighs knowing she was right.
"Why are you always right?" She smiles proudly.
"Because, I am." He walks out of the room, grumbling about something. Not too long afterwards Tina walks in with a clipboard in hand.
   "Hey, Tina."
   "Hey, Evy."
"Do you happen to know the good doctor's birthday?" Tina looks down at her with a curious smile on her face.
"I do, why do you want to know?"
"I want to throw him a birthday party!" Evy shouts.
"And how do you plan we propose to do that? He comes in here every day to check up on you."
"He has certain times he comes in every day. Usually at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. So, I'm thinking I would allow you to use my debit card, to buy the decorations and the gifts which I already have in mind. What do you say?" She grabs her face lost in thought, after a few minutes of thinking it over she nods her head yes.
"His birthday is coming up in the next two days. So, I hope the plans are already put together." Evy grabs her chest in fake shock.
"What kind of person do you think I am?" She pulls out a list from the top drawer in the desk.
"Here this is a list I made recently, of the things we will need to pull this off." She gives the list to Tina. She grabs the list and looks at it to see quite a few expensive Items on the list.
"This list is going to be expensive you know?"
"Yeah, I know. I'm not going to have a lot of money left after I pay off the medical bills but I'll make it work somehow. But it's all going to a good purpose so I'm fine with it." She smiles.
"Alright, just wanted to make sure you know." Tina walks out the door while looking at the list. Evy moves to sit back down on the bed, she picks up her new book and goes to her marked spot, and dives head first into the story.

A sharp knock on the door scares her, losing her place in the book. She looks up at the person only to find a smirk on his face.
"You're so easy to scare, Evy." She huffs in annoyance. Grabbing her book mark.
"You made me lose my place." He walks up and pats her head, while looking at the beeping machines.
"At this rate, you should be able to go outside, for a day at most."
"Really?" He looks down to her.
"Yeah, if your body doesn't have another hernia. Then you should be good." She looks up at him.
"I was thinking, since you need a guide to get around, Japan. That I would go with you since I have quite a few paid days off." He looks down to see her grinning like a child in a candy store.
   "Thank you, so much Trafy!!!!."
"But, don't ge-" He couldn't finish his sentence as he was tackled by the small woman. Not knowing how to react he pats her head. She stands up and crawls back into the bed.
"Thank you so much, Trafy" She smiles up at him. He smiles back.
"It's not a problem, Evy" He looks down to his wrist watch.
"Well, I suppose I should get going. I've got a ton of other people to treat. So I'll see you soon." He starts walking toward the door.
"See you soon Trafy." The door closes behind him. She looks to the clock, seeing its nearing 10 o'clock. She leans over to the desk and grabs her newly prescribed sleeping pills, takes the recommended dose, and turns off the light to end the rather full day she had had.
She wakes up the next morning, stretches, and sits and contemplates life, her usual routine. A knock on the door startles her out of her depressing thoughts of humanity.
"Who is it?" She asks, not really wanting to see the good doctor quite yet.
"Tina, your nurse." Her face lights up at the realization of the party she had planned for said doctor.
"Oh, come in." She moves to stand up and open the door, but stops feeling a sharp pain in her stomach. She grabs her stomach and sits down, with a slight grimace on her face. 'Totally, forgot about that. I hope I didn't tear any of the stitches.' Tina walks in carrying a armful of bags, with the logo of the closest convenience store on the bags. In the other hand is a rather long box. She smiles realizing It got here in time.
"I got the stuff for the party, you also have a package for you." The small woman makes grabby hands for the box. Tina hands the box to her with a smile on her face, while setting the other bags on the floor.
''What are you so happy for? And what's in the big box?" She points to the box in the small woman hands.
"This is Taffy's gift, but I didn't think it would get here in time. But I'm so happy it did."
"Well, come on don't keep me waiting." Tina looks at her with the most sassiest look she could give.
"It's a Sword sheath. He told me that he had always been a fan of swords, and that he has one named the Nodachi? I think it was. I just thought this would be a better gift than what others I had thought about. Such as a book, antique scalpel, or something else of the like. I also had it specifically designed with a black cover, and red crosses." She looks down at the package.
"I hope he likes it. It cost a fortune. Bye bye Christmas money." She looks up to the nurse with a smile.
"I think he'll love it. When did you order it? I didn't see you ever leave the room. There's also no phone in here." She gestures around to the room.
"If I tell you, you've got to promise to not to tell Taffy." The small woman looks at the nurse with a serious face. The nurse rolls her eyes.
"Alright, cross my heart, hope to die, stick a pencil in my eye." The small woman looks up to the clock and sees that she has plenty of time.
"I went out in the middle of the night, after everyone was either in their rooms or doing paperwork. I had to go out a total of three times to make sure the company didn't send it to the wrong place."
"And no one caught you, trying to sneak out?"
   "Nope, not a single soul."
"Weird..." The small woman looks up at the clock and grimaces.
   "What is it?"
"We only have a 10 minutes to hide all of this stuff, and with this big of a box there is nowhere to hide this thing." She gestures to the abnormally large box.
"True..." Tina grabs her chin in thought. "How about under the bed?"
"That's a good idea!.. Could you put it down there? Since I can't move?" Tina lets out a humorless chuckle.
   "Alright, fine. You slug."
"Hey! I would've put it down, there if I could move!"
"Yeah, right. You're as lazy as a sloth, With tranquilizers."
"Still offended, but too true. You can hide the rest away in the closet over there." The small woman points over to a closet in the rightmost corner of the room.
"You sure he won't look in it?"
"I've never seen that closet ever opened. So I think it's pretty safe in there."
"Okay, I guess I'll have to trust you." She moves over to the closet, opens it up to find a few papers. Along with an old journal.
"Weird." She picks up the journal, and blows off the caked on dust.
   "What? Whatcha find?"
"An old, dusty journal." She walks over to the girl, book in hand.
   "Who wrote it?"
"I don't know the kanji, is pretty old. I can make out one syllable though, 'Law'."
"Maybe, that was a old nick-name of the doctor?" The nurse shrugs her shoulders, and hands the book to the woman. She looks up at the clock, seeing the daily visit of the good doctor was about to happen in 2 minutes.
"You should probably get going. Before the good doctor catches you "Not doing your duty"." The woman lowers her voice to mimic the grumpy doctor. The nurse jokingly salutes the woman in bed.
"Sir, yes sir." The nurse walks off to leave the room, waving as she closes the door. A comforting silence takes over the room. She lets out a sigh, and looks down to the book in her hands. 'I should hide this somewhere.' She leans over to her book pile and sets it underneath all of the bigger sized books. 'That should do it!' She smiles happily at herself. Just as she looks up to clock, the door opens. 'Always on time.' She looks up to the man in white.

Once all of the needed procedures are completed. She looks over at him, he looks a lot better than when she first met him. He had sunken in eyes and a constant frown on his face. Now, he smiles and his eyes are bright, observing.
"Evy, your staring." his eyes drift down to hers, and that smile turns into a smirk. She looks away, trying to think away to explain what she was doing.
"I was trying to think what kind of sweets you would like." His stands stock still for a moment, He quickly comes up with a reply.
"Why, do you want to know?"
"I'm trying to think of what I would send you for your birthday. After this is all said and done, as a thank you gift."

"Ugh, too much damn paperwork..." I state as I go through the seemingly endless slog of articles that are balanced precariously...
