Floating from place to place, endlessly. Stuck between two world's, unable to touch anything. All I feel is anger. Bound to the desolate halls of my demise. Not able to leave by possession, with nothing to do. I wander these halls endlessly, waiting.
Darkness falls, over taking the sun with its gloomy existence. My anger growing as the moon rises. For tonight, is a special night. Tonight the ritual will take place. What took my life will soon take another. I cast my gaze down to the sacrifice, a new man at the peak age of twenty one. Same age I was when it was my turn. An old feeling crawls its way into my heart, a feeling of despair. The wind stirs the leaves on the ground, grinding them into dust. a small voice is heard, It whispers "save him."
'If only I could."
Tears fall down my face, and are illuminated by the fire below my feet. "Stop, please." My voice cracks. As who once were my dear friends, tie my hands down. They look up to me and grin, as my father grabs a stake and hands it to my friend. The other grabs a hammer and nails my hand into the wooden beam, behind my shoulders. My screams are soon drowned out, by the whoops and hollers of celebrating people. That last shred of hope that I so desperately was clinging onto was violently torn from my grasp, as the last nails were struck into place. The fires from the torches cast a red glow over the faces.
"The fire reveals, all!!" The man I came to know as my father shouts.
"My son, is proof that my line is Holy!!" The torch in his hand glows ominously, as I try to plead with my father.
"SAVE HIM!!"
"I CAN"T, I cannot appear in the physical world! I can't tear the sheet between worlds!"
"You can. Walk forward, my child."
I take a step forward, my leg disappears from my sight. But before I could pull my leg back, I am shoved through the invisible barrier. When I am fully through the barrier, I fall face first into the ground. I lift my head from the ground, to see the torches close to the mans body. I scream for them to stop, but the sound I made was far from human. They all look to the castle in fear. I look down at myself to see, a massive set of wings in place of my hands. Pushing back my curiosity. I flap my breath taking wings and fly down to the ritual site, and put out the fires with my wings. They all run screaming in fear. I look down to the tied up man. I quickly pull up the cross he was tied to and fly away.
